Monday 6th August
Gawler presents itself to the tourist in a few different
fashions. There are walking tours of the
pubs, the city, the historic buildings, or a drive. Today we chose to drive
around the 22 km to gain an appreciation of the place. Gawler is about 45 km from Adelaide and is
the second largest city outside Adelaide. It is also very close to the Barossa
Valley, a wine growing region in South Australia.
This evening we were
invited to have dinner at Julie and Pat’s daughter’s home further in towards
Adelaide. Belinda and her husband Glen
have a beautiful ten month old daughter, Taya who was on her very best behavior
and after her dinner and bath we heard no more from her at all. Bob and I remember Belinda from birth, so it
was lovely to catch up with her again and to let her parents know what a fine
young woman she has become.
