Thursday 9th August
Public transport is still a novelty for both of us, and
as the caravan park was only about 300 metres from the station it seemed
logical to leave the roadway in preference to the railway and enjoy a trip to
Adelaide, about 40 kms and an hour trip away.
Bob was particularly happy as being a “senior” his fare
was free for travel in off peak times.
There is something to be said for the over 60 brigade – they attract
some discount and free tickets – of course I don’t know about it yet, but it is
looming in the near horizon for me too.
We bought our lunch from a food court after finding an
interesting stall named Bing Boy, claiming to provide “Urban Asian Street
Food”.
I was fascinated by the way the
pancake type of wrap was being created, so stood taking photos until our number
was called. It was very tasty and we
were not left feeling as though we were too full and unable to move.
Upon our return from Adelaide we got the bikes out (to
justify bringing them with us) and cycled around a very well maintained and
marked track. We passed many of the
places which had been featured during our earlier car tour of Gawler, so we
felt quite orientated to the place.
