Today
was grocery shopping day at Port Augusta shopping and stocking up on
supplies.
This was followed by a long walk around the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden, which took us through a diverse range of landscapes from the regional areas, local sand dunes and woodland plantings, through to saltbush plains and then along a dramatic cliff top, known as Redcliffs where there was a monument to Matthew Flinders.
He was a very busy lad our Matthew as we are
finding quite a few of these significant monuments. I’m seriously thinking of reading more about
his journeys now that we have covered some of them. Unfortunately the monument is a little hard to see, but I wanted to place it here as a reminder to us.
