Tuesday
10th July
We
found a beautiful bush camping spot named Warren Gorge which also had a clearly
marked walking loop to follow.
While on
this walk we could see the vegetation very distinctly in almost regulated
layers.
The gully and lower hills were
dressed in pine, the mid ranges were full of (I don’t know the politically
correct name for these) “black boys” and the top of the range were adorned in
gums. I thought I could see an ugly woman in this particular plant - do you see it too?
One interesting way the council
are monitoring the visiting population is to have hikers write in a book
contained in a sealed container at the halfway point. On the homeward leg of
the journey we were greeted by a flock of sheep before rounding the corner to
find our van a welcome sight.
This night
we built a wonderful camp fire and made some damper to enjoy while star gazing
and relishing our lifetime opportunities.
